Our Story
Since 1999, the Original Ventura Fisherman’s Market has been your trusted source for local, sustainably caught seafood—directly from the fishermen who harvest it. Each week, we bring the freshest catch to Ventura Harbor, offering you an opportunity to eat local, buy local, and enjoy healthy, sustainable protein for your family.
Join us every Saturday morning from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. (or until sold out) behind Andria's Seafood at Ventura Harbor. Experience the difference that fresh, local seafood makes—taste the ocean, meet the fishermen, and support your community.

Our seafood is as fresh as it gets!
Caught weekly, our high-quality products are sold live or chilled and whole. What's available each week varies by season, but most weeks you can expect to find rock crab, sea urchin (uni), rockfish and more.

each week. Consider pre-ordering if you don’t want to miss out.

Pre-Order
Most of our vendors will accept pre-orders prior to the start of the market. To place your order, contact the vendor you'd like to buy from. You may place an order anytime before the Saturday market. However, the earlier you reach out the more likely the vendor will be able to fill your order. Ideally, it is best to pre-order a week in advance so that there is time to catch enough product for you and others.

FAQ
1 / What forms of payment are accepted?
Our vendors will accept cash, Venmo, Zelle or checks. Sorry no credit cards.
2 / How do I take my seafood home?
We suggest bringing a cooler or insulated bag if you have one. Shopping bags will be provided, but you will want to keep your seafood cool and put it in the fridge as soon as possible.
3 / Will ice be provided?
Yes, if you bring a cooler and need ice we can provide it.
4 / Are fish only sold whole or can I buy a fillet?
Fish are sold whole, but if you buy from the Tran family they can help you fillet your fish.
5 / How long can I keep my seafood in the fridge?
It's best to eat your seafood the day you buy it, but talk with the vendor for specifics about maintaining a high quality product.
6 / How early does the market sell out?
The market often sells out by 8 am. We recommend arriving early or pre-ordering.
